Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

TAB Members

 

What is the Teen Advisory Board (TAB)?

A group of teens in grades 7 through 12 who meet on a regular basis and are interested in helping Teen Services staff in developing and implementing teen services.  Members are eligible to receive volunteer credit. 

Who can join?

Anyone in Grades 7th-12th (or equivalent for homeschoolers) is welcome to join TAB.

 What are the duties of TAB members?

  • Provide input on the Teen collection (suggestions for purchase in all areas, including fiction, non-fiction, manga, and audiovisual materials).

  • Provide input on the Teen Center, including space planning, displays, and furniture.

  • Provide input on Teen programming and assist with implementation.

  • Assist with any fundraising (from ideas to implementation).

  • Read teen books and provide reviews for the Alhambra Teen website and Alhambra Teens MySpace page.

  • Encourage teen involvement in the library's services and programs

  • Advise Teen Services staff on teen interests and trends.

 When will TAB meet?

TAB will meet in the Community Room from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month. Location may vary so please check with the Teen staff.
