DONATING USED BOOKS 

We GRATEFULLY RECEIVE donations that can be added to our collections or sold in the Friends of the Library Used Bookstore. Please read our Donation Policy. Here are some guidelines before you bring in your donations:
 

WE SOLICIT AND ACCEPT:

• Books published in the last 5 years
• Recent Best sellers
• Clean copies of "classic" titles
• Recent Special Interest Magazines, such as National Geographic.

PLEASE DO NOT OFFER

• Books in poor condition (yellowing pages, broken bindings, musty smelling, etc.)
• Textbooks older than 5 years
• Reader's Digest condensed books
• Dated information (old travel guides, etc.)

DROPPING OFF DONATIONS:

• Donations are accepted Tuesday - Fri., 8 am to 5 p.m.; Sat. 8am to 3:30 pm
• Donations of 10 or less books may be left at the Circulation desk.
• Boxes or shopping bags of donations (please limit to 1 or 2) should be brought to the Library rear delivery entrance in our parking lot. Ring the doorbell to the right.
• Larger donations require an appointment. Please call the Technical Services division at (626)570-3214 to schedule a drop off time. 

TAX STATEMENTS AND RECEIPTS:

If you wish a receipt for tax purposes, count the books you are donating, by hardcover and paperback. Upon request, a formal letter acknowledging the donation can be provided, but we cannot assess the value of the items.
