Stargazing Kits

STARGAZING KITS PROGRAM

The Alhambra Library has partnered with the California State Library in offering our library cardholders Stargazing Kits. The kits include a telescope, carrying bag, portable stool, compass, flashlight, a Night Sky Field Guide, and a Moon Field Guide. These kits are designed to give the user an immersive stargazing experience.

Stargazing Kits:

• Available to check out with a valid Alhambra Library card - 1 kit per card user only.
• Valid for 21 days from the time of checkout.
• Not renewable. When the kit is returned, patrons may check it out again if it is available, otherwise a hold can be placed on one.
• Incurs a late fine of $1.00 per day.
• Can be placed on hold if all kits are checked out. Place a hold using your account in the Library Catalog. Or visit a Help Desk to place a hold or call (626) 570-3212. Held kits remain on the Hold Shelf for a maximum of 2 days.
• All of the kit contents must be returned intact and in good condition. Library staff will check the kit upon return for all contents and condition.
• To be returned to the Alhambra Library Check Out Desk only.
• To check a kit out, patrons must provide a valid Driver's License or Government issued ID, have a valid/in good standing full-access Alhambra Library card, be 18 years or older, and sign a user agreement form which is kept on file until the kit is returned and examined for good condition.
